I absolutely adored this session! These girls were such a treat to photograph. The mothers of these girls are best friends, so naturally they spend loads of time together and have developed such a special bond. This bond is so evident in these pictures, as you will see. Hope you enjoy this beautiful summer session as much as I do!
I am finally getting the chance to blog this precious lifestyle newborn session. This family has allowed me to enter into their journey. Not only did I get to capture Kathryn and her beautiful baby bump (see here), but I also documented little man’s birth (see here). Next week, I will get to visit them again for Noah’s three month session. THREE months!! Phew! He is so cute, and I can’t wait to squeeze him.
How is it July 17th already?! It is time for my “15 on 15” again. It is funny to say that because neither is it the 15th of the month or am I only posting 15 images. Oh well! Ha! I missed last month’s blog post. I spent my video making time creating a birth film which you can see here. This summer, we have loved playing with our new toy, the GoPro Hero 5 Black. Since swimming has been such a huge part of our lives, it was only fitting to make a family film that highlights this fun. A huge shout out and thank you to my Mother in Love for sharing her pool with us! The film was created using both my DSLR and the GoPro. Unfortunately, I did not realize the GoPro had been changed to 720p instead of 1080p, so the quality in some clips could have been better. Doh! Hope you enjoy the film. All the images below were shot with the GoPro. Thanks for taking a look!
My client contacted me about capturing their pregnancy and gender reveal announcement. I love the way it turned out. I couldn’t help but throw in a few family shots for them as an extra little gift. After sending her gallery to her, she put together an awesome slideshow video for sharing the news. It was so good! It thrilled me to hear that she got exactly what she wanted. So happy for you, Poore family! Congrats!
Last fall, I participated in a silent auction fundraiser for The Wellhouse/Open Heart Doula. I cannot say enough good things about this organization. Their desire is to create a place for Knoxville families to find valuable resources and to build a community of support for mothers. They offer a variety of services, support groups and classes for parents and children. Please check them out. They are a breath of fresh air. Through the fundraiser, I was able to spend some time with the Thress family. I absolutely LOVE this session. I would call this a “lifestyle with a bit of documentary flare” session. We started at their home then moved onto Dad’s work. Can we just take a second to say how BEAUTIFUL both places are? Goodness! Jodi’s home decor skills are rockin’. Wouldn’t you agree? Also, Thress Nursery Gardens is by far the most gorgeous nursery I have ever seen. You should check them out, too! 😉 Without further ado, I present the Thress Family.
Whoa. The excitement I am feeling as I prepare this blog is hard to describe with words. Brad and Kathryn have a story of heartache, perseverance, and hope. For the last several years, they have been trying to grow their little family. After the loss of two babies in the womb, 4 years of unsuccessful infertility treatments, and many negative pregnancy tests the Helton’s became pregnant with a little boy. Even with the history she has had, Kathryn told me that she was able to maintain a peaceful and hopeful spirit throughout her pregnancy. She clung to Isaiah 66:9, “…I will not cause pain without allowing something new to be born, says the Lord…” (New Century Version). Getting to know this family and participating in their journey has impacted me in such profound ways. I am forever thankful for the connection we now have. I hope you take the time to watch their fusion film (stills + video). It takes you along through this birth story in such a way that you feel as though you were there. Grab some tissues and enjoy meeting little Noah Leland Helton. Their rainbow baby.
